Message From Mr. Rambo
Do you know what music your children listen to?? Do you monitor their video games closely?? Are they watching things on TV that are not appropriate for children their age?
As a parent, I know how difficult it is to monitor all of the media that children are exposed to.? As a principal, I fully believe that students who are continually exposed to video games, TV shows, movies and music that are targeted to adult audiences are affected in a negative way.? Take time as a family to clarify what video games, TV shows and music are acceptable in your home.? I advise setting guidelines around how much time children have access to TV and other electronic gadgets.? Sometimes as parents we have to make unpopular choices for the overall well-being of our children.? Do not back away from a decision you know is right.? Communicate openly and often to your children about your expectations in regards to these topics.
Families should go on walks around the neighborhood, play ball in the yard or play board games as a family.? Getting fresh air and sharing time together as a family is healthy.? These are good ways of showing kids you can have fun without being in front of a screen.
